Brian O’Driscoll has posted a touching birthday message to Ronan O’Gara on his 40th birthday.

On retiring from professional rugby, he was Ireland’s all time leading points scorer with 1083 points, the Six Nations leading points scorer and the most capped player in Heineken Cup history.

His former team mate Brian shared a message for his 40th on Instagram, “Happy fortieth (yes 40th) birthday to this beaut! A great friend, still drinking from the fountain of youth.”

The rugby legend now lives in Paris with his wife Jessica and his five children.

The Irish Rugby Twitter account also shared a lovely message to the Cork native for his birthday.

They wrote, “Record points scorer & 128 caps – sure what’s not to celebrate boy? Happy Birthday Ronan O’Gara. Here he is on his debut v Scotland in 2000.”
