Bob Geldof calls Syrian crisis a 'sickening disgrace' as he opens his home to refugees

Bob Geldof is giving his home up to three refugee families.

The singer has opened the doors of his Kent house as well as his Battersea home in London for refugee families as pressure mounts on the Government to do something to help those affected.

I’m prepared – I’m lucky, I’ve a place in Kent and a flat in London,” he said.

Activist: Bob has been helping families in need for years

“Me and Jeanne would be prepared to take three families immediately in our place in Kent and a family in our flat in London, immediately, and put them up until such time as they can get going and get a purchase on their future,” he told RTE Radio One.

As pressure mounts across the world to help the Syrian families, the 63-year-old activist wants action to be taken now.

“I look at it with profound shame and a monstrous betrayal of who we are and what we wish to be. We are in a moment currently now that will be discussed and impacted on in 300 years’ time,” he said.
