Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh is set to take over as the face of RTE’s Nationwide.
The decorated presenter will replace Mark Kennedy on the show, the Sunday Independent reports.
Mary left RTE last month after celebrating her 65th birthday.

Mary was the face of the popular show for 15 years.
Blathnaid’s run on the series will begin when RTE launches it’s new season in January 2020.
She will share reporting duties with presenter Anne Cassin.

Mary recently told The RTE Guide that she would have loved to stay working on the show.
“I’d love to stay but it’s up to RTE if I go or not,” she said at the time.
“All I can say is that I love what I do and I would love it to continue.”
