James Nesbitt’s co-stars reveal his hair transplant will be referenced in new Cold Feet series

He’s admitted to having a hair transplant in the past and James Nesbitt’s Cold Feet co-stars have revealed that it will be brought up on the new series of Cold Feet.

ITV is reprising the much-loved series, 13 years after it went off air, and as James’ character Adam will now be sporting a much fuller head of hair than when he was last on-screen, the elephant in the room needed to be addressed.

Faye Ripley told Digital Spy: “It was either Jimmy or Mike’s [Bullen – writer] idea.”

And co-star John Thomson added: “He was happy with it… It had to be addressed.”

Opening up about his procedure in 2013, James said: “Several years ago, I began losing my hair and like a lot of men it was a major concern to me, in fact it was practically an obsession.

“But, also I’m an actor so I’m in the public eye a lot and I really felt that my hair loss could affect my career prospects.

“So, after many agonies and a great amount of thought and believe me it’s something I didn’t take lightly, I took the decision to visit Hair restoration Blackrock [in Dublin].”

James also wore a toupee when he hosted the Ballon d’Or ceremony last year.
