“The teacher said, ‘That’s never going to happen for you here, you’re not Irish you have a foreign name'”.

“I was sad because I thought what a bad way to think. You can do anything, it doesn’t matter where you come from or the colour of your skin, or how much money you have,” she told the Irish Daily Mirror.

The 27-year-old hopes her new book, The Pursuit of Awesome will teach people that passionate and hard-working are all that matters on the path to success.

“If you have a passion and a talent and you’re dedicated you can get to where you want to be, that’s pretty much the message the book gives.”

Diana also imparted some wisdom on how to make it – revealing young people shouldn’t be afraid of failure.

“You shouldn’t try and copy everyone else, what you have is unique and it will make you stand out.

“Don’t be afraid to fail, anyone who has achieved anything has messed up, each time you fail, you fail a little bit better.

“Don’t try to be the trend, set it.”
