“I’ve a number of things on the go, I’m doing a book at the moment which I’ll probably have to start working very hard at now.

“I work with a few companies, I work with Pinergy which I must say has been great for me for the last few years, in terms of looking over the fence at how the real world works,” he explained.

“I’m involved in quite a few of initiatives around Limerick which I’ll probably take a bigger part in now as well.

Despite taking charge on the rugby pitch for Ireland, Paul admitted coaching is an avenue he is considering.

“I’ll have a look at coaching as well, it’s something that interests me – some days it’s something I really want to do and other days it’s the last thing I want to do,” he admitted.

“I think with a young family it’s a difficult job to do but it interests me and there’s certain roles in rugby that interest me.

“You can’t be apart of something for so long and not want to have a look at it but at the same time the other side – I suppose the real world interest’s me,” he said.

“It’s very exciting, I love playing golf and I literally haven’t played golf in four or five years for fear of getting injured.

“I’ve literally been avoiding injury and staying on the pitch has been my main focus so I’m looking forward to playing a little bit of golf.

“I’m looking forward to getting back down and watching Young Munsters.”
