Celebrity tributes pour in for Terry Wogan

A host of celebrities have paid tribute to late, great Terry Wogan.

The former RTE star and famed BBC host, died after a short illness.

While Ryan Tubridy and Gay Byrne both paid tribute to Terry on 2FM today, a string of stars took to social media to remember the TV presenter.

Chris Evans released a statement after hearing the news.

“We are all so terribly sad upon haring of the passing of Terry,” he said.

“I can’t put into words how the whole radio two family is feeling. Our most heartfelt thoughts go out to Helen, Mark, Alan, Katherine and Vanessa. To many of us Terry was Radio 2. We still can’t believe it.”

Meanwhile stars like Nadine Coyle, Paloma Faith, The Rubberbandits, Laura Whitmore and Bressie all to Twitter to remember the Limerick man.

As an Irish journalism student trying to work in the UK, Wogan has always been a true inspiration for me. Never forgetting his roots but paving his own hugely successful path and becoming a National treasure. Such a gent too. Feel like I've lost a family member. RIP Terry x

This was taken such a short time ago. Sir Terry was in great spirits & his beautiful wife Helen offered biscuits to welcome us. My heart goes out to the Wogan family for such a huge loss.

So sad to hear about Terry Wogan this morning. I grew up watching him, had the pleasure of presenting with him & more recently sang for him on his @bbcradio2 show. He always made me laugh, always made me feel welcome and he was a legend. Rest in peace Terry, you will always be in our hearts ❤
