Liam Payne has responded to his former bandmate’s comment about ‘never speaking’ to Harry Styles while he was in One Direction.
A few weeks ago, Zayn, who left the band in 2015, said, “I never really spoke to Harry even when I was in the [One Direction].”
Now, Liam has responded to Zayn’s revelation in an interview with Pure Break.
When asked about Zayn’s quote, Liam said, “Sometimes, people can seem like friends and maybe under the surface, they’re not.”

“I don’t really know. When we were in the band, we all seemed to get along quite well up until the end of it I guess you know, after Zayn left,” Liam explained.
Last month, Zayn told Us Weekly that there was a rift in the band before he decided to leave the group in 2015.
When asked if he still keeps in touch with Harry, Zayn replied, “To be honest, I never really spoke to Harry even when I was in the band. So I didn’t really expect that much of a relationship with him when I left. And I haven’t [had one] to be honest.”
