Three huge Irish bands make it onto UK’s biggest-selling album list

Three of Ireland’s biggest bands have made it onto the UK’s biggest-selling album list.

The list, compiled by the UK’S Official Chart Company, created the 60 at 60 list to celebrate the company’s 60th anniversary.

The Corrs, U2, and Snow Patrol join other huge bands like The Beatles, Abba and Queen on the list.

U2 made the list at no.36 with their 1987 album The Joshua Tree, but The Corrs beat them at no.28 with their 1997 album Talk on Corners.

Snow Patrol were at no.58 on the esteemed list for their 2006 album, Eyes Open.

Unsurprisingly, British band Queen were number one on the list with their 1981 album, Greatest Hits, which is the first and only album to have sold over 6 million copies in the UK.
