New Irish artist Sion Hill is proving that Niall Horan and Bressie aren’t the only musical talent to come out of Mullingar.
After years of gigging in Irish pubs, the singer was picked up by Germany-based Indie label Clouds Hill, where he recorded his debut album Elephant after impressing producer and owner of Clouds Hill Recordings, Johann Scheerer, in the studio.
“Sion Hill sang his songs, played guitar, and I was immediately inside the music. Sion Hill brought a dozen or so original songs into the studio – and almost all of them were outstanding,” Johann said.
Sion Hill’s debut album features 12 x tracks, which were penned by the himself, that are bursting with a mix of soul, pop, gospel, country, folk and funk.
Fresh new talent: Sion Hill is breaking on to the scene with his debut single Nothing’s Wrong With Loving You | NATHAN BARLOW
Ahead of his album release, Sion Hill is set to embark on a tour around Germany with Peter Doherty – but not before releasing his debut single Nothing’s Wrong With Loving You, which he released the music video for today.
With his first single, the young Irish artist wanted to spread the message that there’s nothing wrong with any kind of love; be it heterosexual, homosexual or anything else.
Speaking ahead of his music video release, Sion Hill said that he wanted the video to “capture the joys of being young, loving who you want and not giving a f**k what other people think.”
