Model Nadia Forde has revealed that her first single will be about abandoning her parents.

And the 24-year-old – who has “no contact” with her parents – has revealed that Haunted is an “open letter” of what she wished she told them as a kid.

She told the Irish Sun: “The opening line is, ‘Nothing haunts us like the things we don’t say, we try to speak but instead we turn and walk away’.

“I have no contact with my parents whatsoever now so I don’t know what they will think about it. I played it for my granny and my aunty and they love it, as they love all the songs I played for them.

“It’s an emotional song but it’s not a sad song to me, it’s quite positive really as there’s a resolution at the end of it.

“I confronted feelings while writing it that I didn’t even know I had, so it was very therapeutic. It’s not a song of blame, it’s just my own thoughts on a particular day and what happened to me that day.”
