Bressie: 'I'll never be new Louis Walsh – it's too TOUGH to be a music manager'

Rocker Bressie has insisted he will never follow in the footsteps of Louis Walsh and become a music manager.

The Voice coach puts young Limerick musicians into a band for his new RTE show Teenage Kicks, which is out later this year.

But despite that experience, Bressie admitted he feels it is too tough to ever become a manager.

He said: “I wouldn’t manage anyone though, that’s the toughest gig in the industry.”

Meanwhile, Bressie has confirmed he is coming back to The Voice – but is in the dark on who the new judges are.

Last week, Goss.ie revealed that the former Blizzards star and Westlife’s Kian Egan had agreed deals to return.

But with Jamelia and Dolores O’Riordan understood to be leaving – Bressie doesn’t have a clue who will be joining him on the RTE show.

Speaking at the Tour de Force cycle launch, he said: “Honestly, we’ve no idea what’s happening – there was talk of Sinead O’Connor joining us, but we don’t have a clue what’s really going on.”

All change: But Bressie is back on the RTE show

And Bressie admitted that it is extremely “tough” being part of the Voice, but is happy to continue because he does love it.

“It takes up a lot of time and takes over your life but I’ve always said I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t enjoy it,” he said.

“It’s challenging, but good fun at the same time. The team of coaches get on well, but it’s the things you don’t see too – all the behind the scenes stuff that makes it fun.

“There are 80 people working on The Voice and it’s been the same group for four years. It does get tough, but there are good relationships.”
