Michael Fassbender: ‘I wanted to break my arm to get out of Steve Jobs role’

Michael Fassbender has revealed that he wanted to break his arm to get out of his role in 2015’s Steve Jobs.

The screenplay for the biopic was written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by Danny Boyle.

“In rehearsals I was trying to find a way to get out of the job. I remember telling my driver, ‘If I put my arm in the door, you should slam it. It should cause a break and it should get me out of this gig,'” he said.

According to Vulture, the Kerry man admitted that he didn’t think he could handle the workload of the role.

“[Aaron] wrote all that stuff. It was so dense!,” he told reporters at the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada where he was the guest of honour.

“It was such a mountain, and I’m a slow learner, so when the script arrived for me and the opportunity came to play the part, I really thought, ‘This is not me. This should be somebody else. It’s a miscast scenario.'”

The 39-year-old also admitted that he is not a fan of his performance in X-Men: Days of Future Past and cringed during a clip of himself as Magneto nearly taking down a plane.

“I don’t actually like that performance there, to be honest,” he revealed.

“I just think it’s me shouting. It’s just like… some dude shouting.”

Michael could be taking on a new role as dad as he’s opened up about starting a family with girlfriend Alicia Vikander.
