John Crowley has revealed that Brooklyn has a very Irish sense of humor.
The Irish director has admitted audiences may be surprised by the mixture of Irish humor and sadness.
“It also sort of makes the descent into the sadness all the greater,” he said.

The film may be set between Ireland and Brooklyn but it has a very Irish feel.
“It’s a very particular mix, laughter and tears, it’s very Irish,” he told IndieWire.
Irish actress Saoirse Ronan will play the leading lady torn between an Irish and American love.

The director revealed he wanted a special relationship between both sides of Saoirse’s character.
“I felt that the authenticity of these relationships on either side of Saoirse are key, and we had Domhnall.” he admitted.
It comes afer Soairse Ronan has opened up about actors finding love on set.
