WATCH: Beyoncé returns to hometown to serve food to victims of Hurricane Harvey

Houston, Texas was devastated by Hurricane Harvey

Beyoncé returned to her hometown of Houston, Texas to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey over the weekend.

Last month, thousands of people were left homeless due to flooding caused by the hurricane – and many celebrities have been making efforts to help out.

Houston native Beyoncé returned over the weekend, and was filmed handing out food to survivors, alongside her Destiny’s Child bandmate Michelle Williams, her mum Tina, and her daughter Blue Ivy.

Both Beyoncé and her mum Tina have been sharing updates from their trip to Houston.

On Instagram, Beyoncé wrote, “Thanks to everyone who donated to BeyGOOD and contributed to helping so many families in Houston.”

“Thank you Pastor Rudy, Michelle, Ingrid and all at St. John’s Church. Thank you to Trae Tha Truth and your crew. Y’all are so consistently dedicated to our community.

“Thank you!! There is still work to do so please continue to donate and do all you can to restore our city,” she added.

In another video posted by Tina, Beyonce is seen speaking at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Houston, which was a “touching moment” as it’s the same church where Beyoncé sang her first solo as a 14-year-old.

In the pictures, volunteers are all seen wearing BEYGOOD t-shirts – Beyonce’s charity which provides clothes, food, shelter, healthcare, jobs and counselling to those in need.
