Tori Spelling has recorded and shared the moment she told her husband Dean McDermott she had filed for divorce.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 star filed for divorce earlier this week, after 18 years of marriage.
Their date of separation was listed as June 17, 2023, the same day that Dean announced their split on Instagram in a since-deleted post.
Since the news of their divorce hit headlines, Tori has launched her brand new podcast Misspelling.
In the first episode, the 50-year-old shared the moment she called her estranged husband Dean to let him know she had filed for divorce.
Tori pointed out that he was at work, and told listeners: “This sucks.”
The actress acknowledged this when she spoke to Dean, and said she hated to call him while he was “in the middle of going to work and everything.”
Tori then told him: “They’ve done it. It’s the formality. It’s just the one sheet you check off, and next you’ll have to sign it.”
The mother-of-five didn’t share Dean’s side of the conversation, but could be heard asking him if he had a lawyer.
Tori then said: “Wait, it’s gonna be spun what way? That I’ve had enough of you? What? What do you mean?”
“In all honesty after this whole journey, if it’s about … who files first, the other person is wrong, I feel like I deserve to file first then. You basically put it out there with Daily Mail and said everything you’ve done to me over the years, so I think it makes perfect sense that it followed up that I would file.”
After hanging up the phone, Tori broke down in tears and said she had “never felt more alone in 50 years”.
As for what Dean had to say on the phone, Tori explained: “[He said], ‘I have a lawyer. I was gonna do this, but cool, yeah, saves me $500.'”
During the episode, Tori opened up about the breakdown of their marriage, and admitted she should have left “sooner”.
The former couple tied the knot back in 2005, and share five children together – Liam, 17, Stella, 15, Hattie, 12, Finn, 11, and Beau, 7.

Tori has requested that the court award her spousal support and terminate her former husband’s ability to receive the same support.
The 90210 star also asked for sole physical custody of their five kids.
However, the mother-of-five has asked for joint legal custody with his visitation rights to be determined at a later date.
The filing did not reveal whether the couple had a prenuptial agreement in place.
