The Kardashians appear in court for jury selection in their case against Blac Chyna

Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Kylie Jenner and Kris Jenner all appeared in court on Monday for their case against Blac Chyna.

Chyna’s legal battle with the famous family began in 2017 after her on/off relationship with Rob Kardashian, 35, ended.

The model — born Angela Renée White — claimed the Kardashians were responsible for cancelling the KUWTK spinoff, Rob & Chyna.

The famous family was present as defendants in the lawsuit to witness their legal team and Chyna’s own representatives select the trial’s jury. However, Chyna’s ex Rob was noticeably absent.

Chyna, 33, was also spotted in the Los Angeles courthouse.

Chyna and Rob, parents to 5-year-old Dream, starred in KUWTK for one season. At the time, a spokesperson for E! told Variety that Rob & Chyna had “not been in production for several months and the series [was] not currently on the E! schedule.”

Right before the show’s decision was announced, Rob leaked nude photos of Chyna on social media.

Chyna has since claimed that the revenge porn incident and Rob’s family’s influence with the network were responsible for the show’s abrupt end.

Chyna then sued the family for $100 million on claims of defamation and illegal interference with her contracts and business dealings.

The Kardashians have since denied any wrongdoing and said in court filings that they had legitimate concerns about Chyna and feared for Rob due to the “violence and toxicity” of the relationship.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Ryan Seacrest is among those on Chyna and the Kardashians’ witness list who could be called to testify in the case.

Chyna took to Twitter on April 2 to address the case publicly, saying she wants to “re-focus [her] attention” on winning in court.

She wrote: “I plan to re-focus my attention on my trial against Kris Jenner and her daughters Kim, Khloe, and Kylie which starts in 13 days.”

“When they got my #1 hit show killed back in January 2017, that not only hurt me financially and emotionally, that hurt my beautiful KIDS.”

“I’m taking them to court to stand up for my legal rights and to be an example to my kids that ‘what’s right is right, what’s wrong is wrong.’ And what they did was so wrong.”

“I am so thankful that a jury will finally listen to what really happened behind closed doors — the lies that were told and the damage that was done.”

“At the end of the trial, I’m going to be able to proudly tell King and Dream that I did everything I could to right the wrong that was done to me.”

Chyna continued: “And that, in life, it is my hope that they will be able to stand up for themselves when it matters too. Peace and Love to you all. Angela”

Meanwhile, Rob is reportedly “focused on being a great dad” to the former couple’s daughter, Dream.

A source recently told PEOPLE: “Rob’s family really loves her. Rob spends a lot of time with Dream. She brings him a lot of joy. She is in preschool and doing great.”

During jury selection for the trial, Chyna’s attorney Lynne Ciani asked dozens of candidates their feelings on the plaintiff, the defendants and the reality shows the case stems from.

One man said: “Anything that has to do with their names is just a big no for me. I don’t think reality TV is good for society.”

Another said: “I sincerely hope none of these people get any wealthier because of this.”

A woman said: “I don’t think they were the best role models. I wouldn’t let [my daughter] watch anything involving them.”

One panel member could not even wait to be asked, saying: “And I just want to say I have a very negative perception of the parties and I’m not sure I could be unbiased.”

The Kardashians did not seem defensive about the comments, but Judge Gregory W Alarcon was not entirely pleased.

He told the panel: “I appreciate your honesty. You’re certainly not shy. But this is the type of case like all cases where everybody is entitled to a fair trial. There’s a jury instruction that says the wealth of a party or the poverty of the party doesn’t matter.”

Jury selection is expected to continue on Tuesday, with opening statements to follow. The Kardashian women are all expected to testify during the trial.
