Shay Mitchell has taken to her YouTube channel, to share a precious insight into her pregnancy over the past six months.
The expecting mother announced her pregnancy to the world over the weekend, with a stunning pregnancy photo shoot.
Via her YouTube channel, fans get to go behind the scenes on that photo shoot, plus more, in a new video titles Guess Who’s Preggers.
The video opens with Shay posing in a black sheer gown, as her voice plays over the BTS photoshoot footage. It documents how difficult it was for the actress to conceal her pregnancy while under the scrutiny of the public eye.
“When you’re in the public eye there are some things you want to keep a secret until you feel ready,” says Shay.
“This, for me, has been the hardest, this is going to be really fun and awesome when I’m not trying to hide it anymore,” she continues, before footage of her baby’s sonogram are shown.
“I didn’t want to come out on social media so early on,” she explains. “I’m going to be so happy when this comes out. Months of hiding… it’s been a really lonely journey.”
The video goes on to reveal that Shy will be sharing her pregnancy journey with her followers on YouTube, in a new series called Almost ready.
“It’s kind of surreal processing the fact that another human is growing inside of you. It’s exciting, nerve-racking, difficult and emotional all at the same time.”
“Everyone waits for the right time to make the announcement and for me it wasn’t until I couldn’t hide it anymore and was tired of wearing over sized sweatshirts.”

The news of her pregnancy comes just months after Shay revealed that she suffered from a miscarriage last year.
