Emma Hernan has set the record straight on claims she “lied” about being an Olympic-qualified swimmer.
During the fifth season of Selling Sunset, which joined Netflix last month, the realtor turned reality star told her client and love interest Micah McDonald that she once swam a time that qualified for the Olympic Games.
However, fans of the show did their research and could not find any information about Emma’s swimming career on the USA Swimming database.

During the season five reunion, which joined Netflix on Friday, Emma said: “I grew up, I was a swimmer… From 6 to 14, which was when I stopped, that was my whole world. I placed second nationally in backstroke, and I did qualify for the pre-Olympics.”
When asked why there was no records of her on the swimming database, Emma replied: “Maybe because it was 20 years ago, but my mom has all of the newspaper clips so don’t worry, my mom’s got my back!”
Emma also gave an update on her relationship with Micah during the reunion, telling host Tan France: “We had a very flirty connection… He’s a good friend.”
