Sandra Bullock’s sister praises the actress for being an ‘amazing caretaker’ to her late partner Bryan Randall

Sandra Bullock’s sister has praised the actress for being an “amazing caretaker” to her late partner Bryan Randall.

The photographer, who started dating Sandra in 2015, sadly passed away over the weekend aged 57 – after a private battle with ALS.

In a tribute shared to Instagram on Monday, Sandra’s sister Gesine wrote: “I’m convinced that Bry has found the best fishing spot in heaven and is already casting his lure into rushing rivers teaming with salmon.”

“ALS is a cruel disease but there is some comfort in knowing he had the best of caretakers in my amazing sister and the band of nurses she assembled who helped her look after him in their home.”

“Rest in peace, Bryan. In lieu of flowers, please donate to ALS Association and Massachusetts General Hospital,” she added.

The news of Bryan’s passing was confirmed by his family in a statement shared with People on Monday.

They said: “It is with great sadness that we share that on Aug. 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS.”

“Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request.”

“We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours.”

“At this time we ask for privacy to grieve and to come to terms with the impossibility of saying goodbye to Bryan,” the statement concluded, signed, “His Loving Family.”

ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a rare neurological disease that affects motor neurons.

Sandra started dating the photographer in 2015, after he was hired to take photos at her son Louis’ birthday earlier that year.

They made their first red carpet appearance as a couple at the premiere of her film ‘Our Brand Is Crisis’ in October 2015.

The pair kept their relationship out of the public eye but in December 2021, Sandra called Bryan “the love of my life” during an appearance on ‘Red Table Talk’.

She said at the time: “I found the love of my life. We share two beautiful children— three children, [including Bryan’s] older daughter. It’s the best thing ever.”

“I don’t wanna say do it like I do it, but I don’t need a paper to be a devoted partner and devoted mother. I don’t need to be told to be ever present in the hardest of times. I don’t need to be told to weather a storm with a good man.”

Sandra was previously married to Jesse James from 2005 until 2010.

News of Bryan’s death came just days after People reported that his and Sandra’s relationship was “on the rocks”.

The actress recently took a step back from Hollywood life to spend some time with her two children, who she adopted – Louis, 13, and Laila, 11.
