Representative for Taylor Swift addresses alleged altercation between singer’s dad Scott and paparazzo

A representative for Taylor Swift has addressed an alleged altercation between the singer’s dad Scott Swift and Sydney paparazzo.

In a statement to PEOPLE, police in Sydney said they were investigating an “alleged assault after a 71-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 51-year-old man at Neutral Bay Wharf” around 2:30 am on Tuesday.”

“The younger man reported the incident and inquiries are now underway by officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command. The man did not require medical treatment.”

Taylor has just wrapped up the Australian leg of her Eras tour, completing four nights in Sydney and three in Melbourne.

A spokesperson for the Cruel Summer singer has now addressed these reports.

In a statement they said: “Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water.”

Scott has been a familiar face at many of Taylor’s Eras Tour concerts.

During her Sydney shows, the 71-year-old was seen mingling with the songwriter’s boyfriend Travis Kelce, and hanging out in the VIP tent with the likes of actress and comedian Rebel Wilson.

Wrapping up her fourth and final show in Sydney’s Accor Stadium on Monday, she told the crowd: “We have had the most wonderful time. I’ve got to tell you that.”

“You are here in one of the most exciting cities in the world, and you chose to hang out with us. Thanks guys!”
