Christina Aguilera has ditched makeup and hair extensions for the cover of Paper magazine.

In the magazine’s May issue, the singer looked practically unrecognisable as she posed for close-up snaps.

For the cover shot, the 37-year-old held her hand up to naked lips, showing off a ring that says ‘MOM’ on it, paying homage to her two children Max (10) and Summer (3).

“I’ve always been someone that obviously loves to experiment, loves theatrics, loves to create a storyline and play a character in a video or through stage,” the blonde beauty said in her cover interview.

“I’m a performer, that’s who I am by nature. But I’m at the place, even musically, where it’s a liberating feeling to be able to strip it all back and appreciate who you are and your raw beauty.”

Christina’s photos were shot by Zoey Grossman.
