Matthew Perry’s ex-girlfriend claims he may have relapsed before his untimely death
The 54-year-old Friends star, best known for his role as Chandler Bing in the iconic US sitcom, tragically passed away at his home in LA on October 28th.
The actor was found dead in his hot tub following an apparent drowning.
A report earlier this month claimed fentanyl and meth weren’t found in Matthew system at the time of his death.
Law enforcement sources initially told TMZ that his death wasn’t a result of either drugs, per initial tests.
The outlet reported that more in-depth tests are still being conducted as part of a toxicology examination to check whether any other illegal drugs were found in his blood.
Speaking to The UK Sun, Matthew’s ex Kayti Edwards said: “I know Matthew and I know that he wouldn’t have just drowned.”
“I think he might have taken pills in the week leading up to this.”
Kayti claims she and Matthew briefly dated in 2006 after meeting at an AA meeting.
She alleges she and the actor remained close after their fling ended and that she even worked as his assistant in 2011.
