Mary Fitzgerald responds to ‘favouritism’ claims made by Selling Sunset co-stars

Mary Fitzgerald has responded to claims made by her Selling Sunset co-stars that she was subjected to “favouritism” in The Oppenheim Group.

Christine Quinn recently opened up about feeling dissatisfied with the “favouritism” shown at the brokerage, admitting she believed Mary was often given more property lists by co- founder Jason Oppenheim.

“The funny thing is, I watch [the show] and I think, I never got a listing like that,” Mary told Evoke.

“He must’ve been showing it to me and a lot of the time things like that happen where he’ll show it to me or say he wants me to show this property for him and the girls just jump and go, ‘Oh he’s giving her something else’,” she explained.

The real-estate agent defended herself, stating: “I’m in six escrows right now… only one of them is from a client that Jason brought me on to about four years ago.”

“Now they’re doing something again, they just sold their condo and they’re buying a new house. So only one of those [clients] has anything to do with Jason, all the rest are my clients.”

The news comes after Christine told Dear Media’s Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast with Amanda Hirsch: “If this favouritism continues, we’d absolutely [leave].”

“Mary gets every single listing,” she continued, “Jason just doesn’t want to do work so he just gives it to her and it’s just so frustrating – he doesn’t give it to anyone else. So we’re all just like sick of it.”

“There’s a scene in the trailer [for season three] actually where Maya, Heather and I are all sitting at the table and Maya is sick of the favouritism, and she’s like, ‘Would you ever leave the show?’”

“Me and Heather are both like, ‘Yeah, of course, we think about it all the time,’” she admitted, clarifying that she wasn’t going anywhere just yet: “That was headline manipulation at its best.”

Christine confirmed earlier this week that Brett Oppenheim departed the brokerage to set up his own venture, telling Glamour UK: “Brett has left to start his own brokerage.”

“The girls are fed up with the favouritism of Mary in the office, we don’t know who will move where,” she added, “It may be the battle of the brokerages!”

Teasing a potential new season of the show, she added: “I think season four is going to be the juiciest season ever.”
