Lionel Richie has admitted that he’s “scared to death” about his daughter Sofia’s new romance with Scott Disick.
The 19-year-old model and the 34-year-old reality star recently went public with their relationship, after the couple were spotted kissing in Miami.
Their romance has raised plenty of eyebrows – including Sofia’s famous father Lionel Richie.
When asked about their relationship, Lionel told Us Weekly, “Have I been in shock? I’m the dad, come on. I’m scared to death, are you kidding me?”
The singer is known for being a protective father, as Sofia previously accused him of tracking her location through her iPhone.
Back in June, Lionel told USA Today, “I keep trying to tell them [his daughters], I don’t track. I don’t understand. [Eldest daughter] Nicole thought I had investigators following her around.”
“I keep trying to tell my kids the same thing: ‘I own Chicago. I own Miami. I have been around the world. So when you go through the airport, I have friends. You cannot sneak into a club. I own that club.’
“They think they are sneaky. So I get a phone call, ‘Hey, just want to let you know Sofia just walked in’. I mean, did I call him? No. I’m not tracking.”
“At this point now, some things are too much information. There are some things you don’t want to know. Kids have to be kids. At some point, you have to let them go do their thing.”
Scott Disick was previously in a long-term relationship with Kourtney Kardashian, and the pair are parents to three children – Mason, Penelope, and Reign.
