Lena Dunham’s Met Gala evening didn’t turn out as she expected.
According to Page Six, the Girls creator and star had to be rushed to hospital from the star-studded event.
Lena was allegedly taken to the emergency room straight from the Met Gala, but was released after she completed a series of tests.
“She’s at home resting and doing well,” a source told E!. “As you know she’s very public about her battles with endometriosis.”
Yesterday Lena shared photos of her red carpet look, including a hilarious picture of her “lurking” behind Joe Jonas in her red and black Elizabeth Kennedy gown.
Last month the actress, writer and director revealed that she was “disease-free” after five surgeries and years of struggling with endometriosis, a painful disorder in which the tissue that normally lines the uterus grows outside of it.
“My surgery went off without a hitch,” she shared in her Lenny newsletter. “When I emerged, cotton-mouthed, [Dr Randy Harrus] told me something I hadn’t expected to hear, maybe ever: there was no endometriosis left.
“Between my surgeries and hormonal intervention, I was disease-free. That doesn’t mean it can never return, but for now, once my sutures have been removed and my bruises have changed from blue to yellow to green to gone, I will be healthy.”
