Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have announced the birth of their first child.
The couple shared the news with UNICEF, the organisation they serve as Goodwill Ambassadors for.
The couple shared a black and white image of their hands alongside their daughters, who they named Daisy Dove Bloom.
“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” they shared.
The Hollywood stars left an important message alongside the news: “But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was.
“Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes. Since COVID-19 many more newborn lives are at risk because of the increased lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases.
“As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathize with struggling parents now more than ever.”

“As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, we know UNICEF is there, on the ground, doing whatever it takes to make sure every expecting mother has access to a trained health worker and access to quality healthcare.

Katy announced her pregnancy in March, revealing the news in her music video for Never Worn White by showcasing her baby bump.
She later confirmed the gender of the baby by sharing a photo of Orlando with pink frosting all over his face, captioned: “???? it’s a girl ????”.
Orlando shared his excitement ahead of their baby’s arrival with popular talk show host Jimmy Fallon earlier this month.
“I’ve been feeling very grateful, obviously, I have a little baby girl on the way,” he said.
“I’m so excited to have a little daddy’s girl. I hope she’s going to love me as much as I love her. That daddy girl thing and that love of your life feeling is right around there.”
He added that his 9-year-old son Flynn – whom he shares with ex-wife Miranda Kerr – is also “excited” to meeting his baby sister.
Katy and Orlando broke up in February 2017, before they reconciled in April the following year, and became engaged on Valentine’s Day last year.
