James McAvoy has confirmed he secretly married his partner Lisa Liberati.
The 42-year-old actor met Lisa in 2016 on the set of his movie Split when she was working as a production assistant to director M. Night Shyamalan.
The couple made their romance Instagram official in 2018 when James shared a sweet photo of him and Lisa, captioning the post: “Happy birthday beautiful.”

One year later, rumours stared swirling that the pair had secretly tied the knot.
James refused to address the speculation at the time, but during an interview with The Guardian this week, the actor confirmed that they’re husband and wife.
After mentioning his partner Lisa, the newspaper noted: “They began a relationship a couple of years later and, he confirms, recently got married.”

Lisa hails from Philadelphia, and when asked by the outlet if he now considers himself an “honorary Philadelphian”, the actor replied: “Yeah, it’s like a second home for me.”
James didn’t share any further details about their wedding, as he likes to keep their relationship out of the public eye.
Before he met Lisa, the Scotsman was married to actress Anne-Marie Duff for 11 years, and the former couple share an 11-year-old son named Brendan.
