Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Jonson has discussed how men struggle to talk about ‘vulnerable things’, like their mental health.

He recently opened up about his own personal struggle with depression.

The ‘Rampage’ actor discussed the stigma surrounding men and their mental health, but believes that it’s important to discuss it, “You’ve got to talk about it and you’re not alone”

On ‘Lorraine’, Dwayne admitted that “There’s just a DNA, a wiring in us [men] and a constitution that oftentimes doesn’t let us talk about when we’re scared or vulnerable or things like that.”

The father of three opened up about his struggles as a child, and how he bottled his feelings as a teenager, believing it was a sign of weakness.

The former WWE star discussed the darkest time of his life, when he witnessed his mother attempt suicide. He was only 15 at the time and was “devastated and depressed” after it. It had a huge impact on him so much so that he didn’t even want to go out in public.

He managed to overcome his mental health battle and now uses his own experience to help others. Dwayne recently welcomed a baby girl, named Tiana, with his long-term partner Lauren, and called the experience of watching his daughter being born “amazing”.
