Bella Hadid breaks silence after Fyre Festival disaster

Bella Hadid has broken her silence after the Fyre Festival disaster, which she promoted alongside a number of model pals.

The inaugural festival, which promised a five-star experience on a paradise island “once owned by Pablo Escobar”, was promoted by Bella, Hailey Baldwin, Chanel Iman and Emily Ratajkowski in a video – but, the festival turned out to be the exact opposite of what they were promoting.

Since the festival descended into chaos, with many describing it as the “Hunger Games for rich people”, Bella and her famous friends, including Kendall Jenner, have received backlash on social media.

However, Bella has been the first to break her silence on the festival, which was organised by Ja Rule and Billy McFarland.

“I just wanted to address Fyre Festival…Even though this was not my project what so ever, nor was I informed about the production or process of the festival in any shape or form, I do know that it has always been out of great intent and they truly wanted all of us to have the time of our lives,” Bella wrote on Twitter.

“I initially trusted this would be an amazing & memorable experience for all of us, which is why I agreed to do one promotion…not knowing about the disaster that was to come…I feel so sorry and badly because this is something I couldn’t stand by, although of course if I would have known about the outcome, you would have all known too.”

Tickets for the festival were priced between $1,000 and $25,000, but ticket holders were left seriously disappointed as all headliners cancelled in advance, and their ‘luxury accommodation’ resembled disaster relief conditions.

Fyre Festival organisers said in a statement, “Due to unforeseen and extenuating circumstances, Fyre Festival has been fully postponed.”

“After assessing the situation this morning and looking at best options for our guests, we cannot move forward as we hoped we could At this time, we are working tirelessly to get flights scheduled and get all travellers home safely.”

Meanwhile, Ja Rule said in a statement, “We are working right now on getting everyone on the island SAFE…that is my immediate concern.,,I wanted this to be an amazing event it was NOT A SCAM as everyone is reporting I don’t how everything went so left but I’m working to make it right by making sure everyone is refunded.”
