Aly and AJ Michalka ‘caught in the crossfire’ of shooting which left six people dead

Singers Aly and AJ Michalka have revealed they were “caught in the crossfire” of a Sacramento shooting which left six people dead and several people injuries.

The former Disney stars took to Twitter after the shooting, which took place near a venue they were performing at on Saturday night.

They wrote: “Distraught by the mass shooting last night outside the venue in Sacramento.”

“All of our thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives and those recovering today. We’re praying for the health care workers caring for them. We hope all our fans made it home safe.”

In another tweet, they wrote: “Our bus was caught in the crossfire but we sheltered in place and everyone in our touring group is ok.”

“Thank you for everyone reaching out. A reminder to keep your loved ones extra close today. We have to do something about gun violence in this country.”

Aly and AJ’s most recent post listed the names of the six people who lost their lives during the fatal attack.

The singers captioned the post: “We will never be able to find the right words but we will try to do better as a community so this doesn’t continue to happen again, Rest in Peace.”

Tyler the Creator was also performing in the area on the night of the incident, and his opening act Kalis Uchis took to Twitter to share his condolences for those who lost their lives during the shooting.

Taking to the social media platform, he wrote: “Devastated by the mass shooting last night in Sacramento near the venue we performed at.”

“Our deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. We pray the injured recover quickly and that everyone at our show made it home safely.”

A total of six people lost their lives in the fatal attack, while twelve more are injured.

Authorities say they don’t know whether one or more suspects were involved, and are asking anyone from the public who can help to contact police.
