Alex Rodriguez has addressed his split from Jennifer Lopez, after she recently unfollowed him on Instagram.
The former couple, who got engaged in 2019, split back in April after almost five years together.
Jennifer, 52, has since removed almost all traces of her relationship with Alex from Instagram by unfollowing him and deleting photos of them together.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight about his split from Jennifer, the retired baseball player said: “I had five years of an incredible life and partnership and also with my daughters, we learned so much.”
The 46-year-old is father to daughters Natasha, 16, and Ella, 13 – who he shares with his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis.
Alex and his daughters lived as a blended family with Jennifer and her 13-year-old twins, Max and Emme – who she had with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.
Alex continued: “And now we have the opportunity to take that and move forward and say, ‘You know what? We’re so grateful for the last five years, how do we make the next five years better because of lessons learned?'”
“So I’m in a great place,” he continued.
“I’m so grateful for where God and and and the light has really put me, and I’m really looking forward. Mostly to see how my girls keep developing.”
The news comes after fans noticed that Jennifer unfollowed Alex on Instagram, and deleted most photos of him from her feed – except family photos that featured his two daughters.
They officially called off their engagement in April, and at the time they insisted they would remain friends.
The songstress has since rekindled her romance with Hollywood actor Ben Affleck.
The couple, who were famously dubbed ‘Bennifer’, got engaged in 2002 – but ended up calling it quits in January 2004.
17 years after their break up, the pair rekindled their romance in May, just weeks after J-Lo and A-Rod announced their split.
