TV3 soap Red Rock ALREADY taking a hiatus

Red Rock is set to be pulled from Irish screens for the Summer months.

The Dublin based series will be taking a break from Irish TV from June to September, unlike any other big soap.

RTE soap Fair City never breaks, with the likes of Emmerdale and Coronation Street never breaking either.

The news was confirmed today by Red Rock’s official Twitter page.

Taking a break: Red Rock is going off air for the summer

“It’s true, #RedRock is taking a break in the summer from the 4th of June. Fear not! We’ll be back in September.”

The TV3 soap first hit our screens earlier this year and debuted to big ratings of over 300,000.

However, Goss.ie previously revealed that viewers have been quickly turning away from the series, with only 162,000 tuning in by the shows third week on the air.

And we can reveal recent figures show the soap has gone down in viewership with some episodes down under 100,000 viewers.

Red Rock airs on TV3 Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8:30.

A representative confirmed the break to Goss.ie, saying: “Red Rock breaks for the summer. The season finale airs on 4th June with a major cliff-hanger!”

“The soap returns in the first week of September.”
