Snapchat star James Kavanagh launches new eatery

We know him as one of the leading stars in the Irish Snapchat world, and now James Kavanagh has launched his very own business.

The Dublin native has teamed up with his boyfriend William Murray – who both share the dream of owning a cafe together.

But before they open up their own place the guys have set up Currabinny, the name of the town William is from, and they’re first samplings will be available this weekend this Saturday at the Spirit of Dublin Craft Fair where Currabinny will have their own stall.

Myself & William have finally ‘set up shop’, if you will. Considering our mutual obsession is food, our dream is to one day open a cafe, but there are obvz loads of bits and bobs to do before that happens. Between now and then, we’ll be popping up at markets, vlogging recipes and catering the odd event. This Saturday, we’re toe-dipping into the food market game at The Spirit of Dublin Craft Fair in the @teeling_whiskey Distillery. We’ll have our own stall selling delicious things you’ll have seen pop up on my Snapchat over the past few months (one such thing is a mushroom and rainbow chard korma that is TO DIE FOR). Lots of recipe tastings (much to my delight) have taken place and we’re so excited to serve it all this weekend. We’ve decided to call the whole thing @currabinny which is where William’s from in Cork. It’s really where his love of food kicked off (and then mine as a result), and also where we endlessly discussed our plans to work in the food biz together. MAJOR applause has to be given to @goodasgold_ie who worked on all of the branding for us – we’re so happy with it, and they totally got our ‘gastronomical botanical’ brief. In terms of the look of the stall (and eventually the cafe), expect marble, gold and leafy plants. So, give the auld account a follow to keep up with our food journey over the next while. We’ll be launching a website soon where recipes and all that jazz will live. And come visit us on Saturday!

Sharing the news on his Instagram account (and of course his snapchat jameskava) the former PR Executive said he will soon launch a site with recipes, videos and more.
