Shane Filan reveals his Christmas wish – a charity number one

Singer Shane Filan has recorded a charity single and is hoping it will be this year’s Christmas number one.

The former Westlife star recorded When I Grow Up with the proceeds from sales to benefit both the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children and Dublin’s Children’s Medical Research Foundation in Crumlin.

Feeling the festive season, the 36-year-old was accompanied on the charitable track by a choir of more than 200 children.

Speaking to the Mirror, Stephen Macken, who produced the track, explained why they decided on the sweet song.

“We chose When I Grow Up because of its deeper meaning in the context of its portrayal of childhood dreams we all once projected into our adult lives,” he said.

The charity single can be downloaded on iTunes or purchased in Xtra-vision and HMV stores nationwide.

Meanwhile, Shane recently teamed up with former Girls Aloud Singer Nadine Coyle for their single I could be.
