'People will get used to it' – Ryan Tubridy on viewers HATING the new Late Late Show set

Ryan Tubridy has dismissed critics of the new Late Late Show set and thinks his critics will “acclimatise” to it eventually.

The RTE series debuted a brand new set for their first show of 2015 complete with a red brick background and brown leather couch.

Speaking on his 2fm show, Ryan was fully aware some viewers were not happy with the show’s new look but he thinks they will get used to it.

Ryan said: “Don’t worry, you will acclimatise to it and  you will get used to it and it will be great in the end.”

“The new set in many ways was the star of the show for some people. Not so much for others but the majority of people, including me, loved that,” he added.

Despite Ryan being sure viewers will grow to love the new look, most viewers have said they are unhappy with the swanky new set.

Viewers texted in to Ryan’s colleague John Murray’s RTE Radio One show to voice their opinions.

Some listeners revealed the new set “hurt their eyes” and thought it was “too American” for an Irish show.

Meanwhile, Ryan is celebrating The Late Late Show’s continued domination of TV ratings. The 2014 show was the most watched broadcast of the year and also of the century with a massive 1.59 million viewers tuning into the broadcast.

The RTE star’s success does not end there, with all six of The Late Late Toy Show’s he has hosted being the six most watched programmes since records began.
