Niall Horan has admitted he completely forgot when the Teen Choice Awards were on even though One Direction won eight surfboards.
The Mullingar man even made an acceptance speech for the ceremony which took place last night in LA.
“I just didn’t realise that the awards were on yesterday,” he replied to one fan online.Â

The 21-year-old had pre recorded a thank you speech as the band were unable to attend the popular awards show.
The Best Song Ever singer also shared his appreciation to his millions of fans and followers from around the world.
“Just woke up and had a text to say that we won 8 awards @TeenChoiceFOX , wowwwww! You guys are incredible yet again, thank you so much,” he tweeted.Â

The sports mad fan also congratulated golfer Jason Day who won the PGA Championship which was on the same time as the Teen Choice Awards.
Only last week the 1D star was celebrating their latest single Drag Me Down becoming the best selling single in chart history.
