Michele McGrath: 'I still hope to represent Ireland in the Eurovision one day'

Although girlband Liir failed to represent Ireland in this year’s Eurovision, bandmate Michele McGrath has insisted the contest is still on her bucket list.

The model turned singer still has hopes of representing her country in the international song contest and she has her fingers crossed that one day she’ll get the chance.

“In some senses it’s worked out for me – Eurovision is just on my bucket list,” she said.

“It’s something I’ve always wanted to do. I’m sure it’ll continue to be on my bucket list until I do represent Ireland.”

“Everything happens for a reason, I know that’s a cliche, but in this case it’s true.”

While Eurovision may not have been meant for Liir – Michele has insisted that they have something else to offer.

“It wasn’t meant for us but we decided we had something else to offer,” she said.

Different: Michele insisted that Liir are not a manufactured group

“We’re not a manufactured group, we’re all doing it for the love of the work.”

“We’ve all had our fair share of knockbacks and successes in the industry.”

The Dublin native is dating MMA fighter Cathal Pendred and admitted it’s great to be in a relationship with someone who is as ambitious as she is.
