Michael Fassbender receives rave reviews for his reading of The Big Lebowski

Hollywood hunk Michael Fassbender gave Jeff Bridges’ role of The Dude a run for his money during a reading of the Coen Brothers classic film, The Big Lebowski.

The Macbeth actor starred beside Patton Oswalt, Olivia Munn and Jennifer Lawrence in Julianne Moore’s original role with Denis Quaid making a surprise appearance in the latest live read organised by director Jason Reitman.

The Kerry actor, who went method for the reading – performing in a pair of shorts and a bathrobe, has been receiving rave reviews for his performance.

Despite being known for his dramatic roles, the 38-year-old actor flaunted his comedic chops while sing a few lines of Kenny Rogers’ Just Dropped In from the flick.

The X-Men actors co-star Patton Oswalt, who is a comedian and writer, joked that the Irishman was taking the role a little too seriously.

“I think Fassbender went a little too method on this one. I hope TMZ isn’t here,” he laughed.

The Shame star took part in the event for Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal, where the latest X-Men instalment is currently being filmed.
