Lorraine Keane lands her own UTV Ireland show

Lorraine Keane has landed her own showbiz programme, taking over Pat Kenny’s spot on UTV Ireland.

The TV presenter is set to present an entertainment show, expected to run for six episodes and feature a different celebrity each week as she grills some of Ireland’s biggest names.

The controversy surrounding Lorraine’s new show is that it is an attempt to fill the gap left by UTV Ireland’s decision to axe Pat Kenny’s In The Round programme.

The show is understood to be in pre-production, with Lorraine pulling out all the contacts she has gathered over the years in an attempt to round up available celebrity guests for the show.

“Lorraine was considered a great choice for this new entertainment programme. She’s a recognised face and has over two decades of experience,” said a source.

“She filmed a pilot of the show, and UTV Ireland really liked what they saw, so she’s now busy compiling a list of guests that she’d like to interview and seeing who’s available.

“The station is concentrating on bringing new names into the fold and Lorraine really impressed the bosses there with her interview style and her natural camera presence,” a source told the Herald.

This isn’t the presenter’s first time working with UTV Ireland as she previously featured in a one-off show where she interviewed American singer Josh Groban.

Lorraine’s new entertainment show is expected to air early in the New Year.
