Liam Neeson's Taken movies to be made into a TV series

It’s not over yet for the Taken franchise, Bryan Mills will be hitting our screens again – but in a slightly different way.

One of the largest television networks in the US, NBC, has started production on a full series based on the Taken movies and Liam Neeson’s character Bryan Mills.

Unfortunately, the Irish actor won’t be involved in the series – it will be a prequel to the films focusing on the character’s younger days before he had a family to be taken.

Although Liam won’t be reprising his most popular role to date, the original movie’s writer Luc Besson is behind the series.

The series will follow Bryan as he learns and acquires the skills the character showcased in the hit movies.

Taken was a break-out hit back in 2008 and re-invented the Derry native as an action star, it spawned two sequels and the trilogy earned over one billion dollars worldwide.
