The race is officially on for this years Rose of Tralee crown.
The 32 lucky Irish ladies from around the world taking part in this year’s festival were at RTE today for the launch of the 56th annual contest.
The event will be broadcast live from the Festival Dome from 8pm on Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 August on RTE One and RTE Player.

Returning host Daithi O’Se will interview the ladies over the course of the two nights.
This year will also see a performance by legendary singer Daniel O’Donnell who will perform the iconic song The Rose Of Tralee as the 2015 Rose is crowned.
