George Hook on THAT Colette Fitzpatrick interview: 'TV3 tried to set me up'

George Hook has accused TV3 of “trying to do a hatchet-job” on him following his interview with Colette Fitzpatrick.

The rugby pundit appeared on Late Review with the TV star to discuss the rugby world cup and an abusive letter he received from a member of the pubic.

However, he was furious when Colette claimed he enjoys being controversial for the sake of winding people up.

Interview: George got into an argument with Colette over her questions

“I was furious. She insinuated I don’t have any integrity — why shouldn’t I be angry?” he said.

“The programme tried to set me up. They asked me to come on the show and talk about an abusive letter I received and to talk about the Rugby World Cup.”

“It was a cheap shot at me. I was outraged. It was a hatchet job,” he told The Sun.

A TV3 spokesperson insisted George knew what would be discussed ahead of his appearance on the show.

“George was informed about what was going to be discussed before appearing on the show,” they said.
