The Christmas TV battle has commenced as Fair City is to take on TV3’s Red Rock – airing an hour-long special of the RTE show.
Following in the footsteps of British Soaps, Coronation Street and Eastenders, the Carraigstown soap will aired a festive filled episode on December 25th.
Extending their usual 30 minute programme to an hour, the veteran show is taking on Red Rock, which previously revealed it’s plans to kill off a major character before the new year.

According to the Herald, the festive episode has vowed to be explosive as fans will see one of the main characters falling ill as several familiar faces will return to Carrigstown for one day.
Aoibhinn Garrihy, who played Neasa on the show, previously admitted she’s looking forward to making a comeback.
However, it already looks as though Fair City will win this year’s Christmas battle as figures exclusively seen by Goss.ie can reveal that Red Rock’s viewing figures have dipped under 100,000.
