Nicky Byrne has revealed he is on the brink of signing a massive solo deal.
Although previously keeping quiet on his solo plans, the Dubliner revealed to Goss.ie he still wants to have his career in radio.
“This is an album that’s out there, I’m currently considering a massive deal with one of the majors to get this album out there,” he said.

“It’s in my blood, however I love the radio, I’ll never not be on radio if someone wants me because I love it, me and Dan [Healy] discussed this [album] before I even joined 2FM.
“He hadn’t heard the song [Sunlight] at this point but I was six or seven tracks down the road and Sunlight was one of the tracks at that point before I joined 2FM,” he told Goss.ie.
“I’ve privately been telling Jenny about the album and I’ve been playing people songs when I got a chance with earphones or when they’re in car [with me] ‘what do you think of this?’
Speaking of a possible tour when his solo album is released, the 2FM DJ admitted his family come first so won’t be gigging for months on end.

“I’d love to promote the album but first and foremost I’m a dad, I’m a husband and I’m not going to be jumping on a tour for months on end,” he explained.
“I’m not going to do that any more but I’ll certainly promote the album and give it my best shot.
“You know I’m 37, I’m not Niall Horan, I’ve done that, I’ve worn that jersey being months on end when you haven’t been home and I loved it,” he revealed.
“But it’s a young man’s game to do that and that’s not me when you have kids in school, playing their football and hobbies.”
