EXCLUSIVE! Baz Ashmawy's quiz show cancelled

Baz Ashmawy has revealed his Sky One quiz show Fanatics won’t be returning for a second series.

The 50 Ways to Kill You Mammy host told Goss.ie the broadcaster was testing three shows and unfortunately his didn’t make the cut.

Instead fellow Irishman Jason Byrne’s show Wild Things has been given the green light for another season.

“No, they were testing three shows. They went with Jason Byrne’s one, which I liked, the Wild Things. I liked that,” he said.

Although he hasn’t told Jason Byrne of his admiration, Baz said to Goss.ie he enjoyed working on the Sky One show and is in talks about other projects.

“I haven’t seen him but I was like ‘I prefer that one personally, I’d watch that’,” he divulged.

“But I enjoyed Fanatics, I had a lot of fun and it was great working over there but I’m chats with them about other stuff.”

Freedom: Baz revealed broadcaster Sky One give him a lot of freedom | VIPIRELAND.COM

Opening up about about his relationship with Sky One, the Dubliner revealed the station give him “a lot of freedom”.

“You’re a freelancer, you’re what you are but I get on very well with them, we’ve a great working relationship,” he said.

“I love working with them, they’re great. They’re really good and they let me make the shows I want to make and give me a lot of freedom.”
