David appears as his “p**s prophet” – a medieval medical practitioner who diagnoses his patients by the shade of their wee.

“I didn’t mind dealing with the p**s. It was the horses which scared me. I lied at the audition, when they asked if I could ride, and then spent the next few weeks in the saddle of this monstrously big horse,” he told The Irish Sun.

The Savage Eye star is keeping his fingers crossed that the series will be a hit.
