Daniella Moyles launches Concern Worldwide's Bake Party 2016

Daniella Moyles helped launch the annual Bake Party fundraiser today for Concern Worldwide – Ireland’s largest humanitarian aid agency.

The Spin 1038 presenter is encouraging people to grab their wooden spoons and organise a Bake Party in their workplace during the week of March 7-11 to mark International Women’s Day on March 8.

All donations from this year’s Bake Party fundraising event will go towards Concern’s work with Syrian refugee women.

Speaking at the launch the Greenery Café on Dublin’s Lennox Street, Daniella said: “I’m absolutely delighted to get involved with Concern’s Bake Party event to mark International Women’s Day with proceeds going to Syrian women.

“Something as simple as a Bake Party with your work colleagues has the potential to make a huge difference to supporting the lives of Syrian women and their families, who desperately need our help.”

Daniella will also travel to Lebanon with Concern at the end of the month to see first-hand how the Irish public are supporting thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled there since the conflict began five years ago.

“Many Syrian women enjoyed similar lives to us before the war. It’s hard to imagine going from a life with so much to a life with so little. Many have suffered nothing but hardship and grief since leaving their homes that have been decimated by the conflict.

“Meeting these women and hearing their stories will be an incredibly humbling experience for me and I’m interested in seeing how Irish people’s donations through Concern go towards supporting their lives.” she said.

Concern can help make your Bake Party a success by supplying you with bake packs, sponsored by Dr.Oetker and Galaxy, plus posters, information leaflets and collection boxes.
