Brendan Gleeson has started filming the latest adaptation of best-selling novel Alone in Berlin opposite movie stars Emma Thompson and Daniel Ruhl.
The book has been adapted for the screen several times in the past but now the Cavalry star is getting in on the game.
The flick follows a working class couple in Germany during World War II who being a series of anonymous protests against the Nazi regime.
Brendan and Emma are set to bring the rebellious couple to life while Daniel plays a Gestapo inspector on trial.

Alone in Berlin is the very first English adaptation of the novel which became an international best seller after it was translated into English in 2009.
Brendan recently co-starred alongside his sons Briain and Domhnall in the comedy The Walworth Farce in Dublin’s Olympia Theatre.
