Boyzone are planning special Irish gig for their 25th anniversary

Boyzone have revealed they are planning a special homecoming gig to mark their 25th anniversary.

The man band spent the summer touring the UK and Asia, however they didn’t perform any concerts on Irish soil.

“The gigs in England over the summer were great because they were every weekend, so we could plan around them,” Shane Lynch said.

“It was no pressure or hassle and we got to do our own thing during the week and go away with our families. Asia was fabulous as well, but we didn’t get the opportunity to gig here.”

The Dublin native admitted that the lads will probably be taking it easy until the anniversary comes around.

“Touring is a hard thing to do so we’re not going to do much until the 25th anniversary, which is two years away,” he explained.

“We’ll do a big tour for that, maybe from the end of 2017.”

Meanwhile, Shane divulged that touring around Asia made him feel like he was back in the 90s.

There was so much excitement. The TV shows we did were electric, and when we landed at the airport it was just like being back in the 90s,” he told The Herald.

“The army was there to pick us up because there were that many people – all that stuff we had forgotten existed because we are that little bit older now.”
